Club History

We started out as ranch land then a golf course was created through this beautiful piece of property. We opened the golf course January 1, 2003 and this golf course has matured into what it is today with wonderful developed oak trees as well as the south fork of the San Gabriel River running through the property and there are still some artifacts of when this was a ranch. Jack Nicklaus was here once every six weeks throughout the design and construction process. He was out there drawing the holes and green complexes, and later he was meeting with the shapers.

The objective of the course was to preserve the natural beauty of the property and create a product that is unmatched in Central Texas while at the same time allowing players of all abilities to enjoy the course with the 5 sets of tees. Missing a short putt might be a fault of your own because the dominant bentgrass greens are so richly perfect, you feel you can make almost any putt. And then you discover the subtle nuances that make them hard to read.
